Universal military pod and landing pad M8A1 US 1/35 scale - ICM model.The CH-54 Tarhe heavy cargo helicopter, created in 1962, was designed to transport large military cargo. To improve its transport capabilities, a special container was developed that served as a transport capsule, enabling the transport of infantry, wounded or equipment. The containers were equipped with windows, doors and a rear ramp, allowing the loading of military equipment, such as cannons or light all-terrain vehicles. They could also be used for parachute drops for soldiers. On the ground, if necessary, these universal containers could be towed on a trailer by military vehicles. A total of 22 containers were built, each with its own unique military license plate number

M8A1 US 1/72 scalelanding mat - ICM model.The nature of combat operations in Vietnam required extensive use of military aviation. To enable the rapid construction of airstrips in difficult terrain, U.S. Army engineer units employed various types of movable airfield flooring.Among these were the M8A1 steel landing mats, which were widely used during the Vietnam War in the late 1960s and early 1970s. These mats were installed by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers units and could be laid in staggered formation or in straight rows, enabling the construction of airfields of various sizes.Each mat measured 3,660 x 560 mm and had a hard, corrugated surface that effectively drained rainwater. This type of surface was commonly used by Air Force units to accommodate combat helicopters, light attack aircraft and observation aircraft.
