RAF pilots in tropical uniforms (1941-1945) 1/48 scale - ICM Figure Set.On the eve of World War II, the Royal Air Force was organized organizationally divided into Nome Command and Overseas Command. Overseas Command, in turn, included air forces in the Middle East, Palestine, Transjordan, Iraq, Aden, the Mediterranean, India, the Far East, as well as wings in Egypt and Sudan. Hot climatic zones required a climate-appropriate uniform that was light khaki in color. In addition, during desert combat operations, pilots and ground personnel wore a combination of khaki and the RAF's traditional gray and blue. Service in hot climates was difficult: heat, sandstorms and problems with clean water made living conditions much more difficult. However, even under such difficult conditions, British pilots served selflessly. In heavy air battles with fighters and torpedo attacks at sea, RAF pilots proved their qualifications as hardy, disciplined and experienced fighters.

The term "1/48" refers to the scale of the model, indicating that the figurine has been reduced to 1/48 of the actual size of the soldier. The Afrikakorps was a German Army expeditionary force sent to North Africa during World War II to support the Italian ally and fight British forces in the North African theater. Commanded by the famous General Erwin Rommel, the Afrikakorps fought in many important battles, including those at El Alamein.

1/48 Imperial Japanese Navy Aviation pilot figures. 10 figures/10 poses. The Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service was the air arm of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN). The organization was responsible for the operation of naval aircraft and the conduct of air warfare in the Pacific War .The Japanese Army acquired its first aircraft in 1910 and followed with great interest the development of air combat during World War I . They initially procured European aircraft, but quickly built their own and embarked on an ambitious aircraft carrier construction program . They launched the world's first purpose-built aircraft carrier, Hosho , in 1922. They later embarked on a program to convert several surplus battlecruisers and battleships into aircraft carriers. The IJN air service had the mission of national air defense, deep attack, naval warfare and so on. It maintained this mission until the end.The Japanese pilot training program was very selective and rigorous, producing a high-quality and long-lived corps of pilots who were very successful in the air during the early part of World War II in the Pacific. However, the long duration of the training program, coupled with the shortage of training gasoline, did not allow the IJN to quickly provide qualified replacements in sufficient numbers. Moreover, Japan, unlike the United States or Great Britain, never modified its program to speed up the training process of its recruits. The resulting decrease in quantity and quality, among other factors, resulted in increased casualties toward the end of the war.Japanese naval aviators, like their Army counterparts , preferred maneuverable aircraft, leading to light but remarkably agile types, most famously the A6M Zero , which achieved its feats by sacrificing armor and self-sealing fuel tanks. Aircraft with self-sealing armor and fuel tanks, such as the Kawanishi N1K-J , would not enter service until late 1944-1945, which was too late to make a significant impact. The Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service was equal in function to the Fleet Air Arm (FAA) of the Royal Navy .

"Greater Japan Empire Army Air Corps") was the air force of the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA). Just as the IJA in general was modeled primarily on the German Army , the IJAAS initially developed along similar lines to the Imperial German Army Air Force ; its main mission was to provide close tactical air supportfor ground forces as well as a limited air interdiction capability . The IJAAS also provided aerial reconnaissance to other branches of the IJA. Although the IJAAS was engaged in the strategic bombardment of cities such as Shanghai , Nanjing , Canton , Chongqing , Rangoon and Mandalay , this was not the main mission of the IJAAS and it lacked a heavy bomber force .It usually did not control observer/artillery observer aircraft; artillery battalions controlled the light aircraft and balloons that operated in these roles. The Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service was responsible for long-range bombers and attack aircraft as well as strategic air defense. It was only in the latter stages of the Pacific War that the two air arms attempted to integrate air defense of the home islands .
1/48 RAF bomber and Torpedo Pilots (1939-1945)At the beginning of 1939, the British Army was, as it had always been traditionally, a small professional army of volunteers. At the beginning of World War II , on September 1, 1939, the British Army was small compared to that of its enemies, as it had been at the beginning of World War I in 1914. It also quickly became apparent that the initial structure and manpower of the British Army was woefully unprepared and ill-equipped for a war with multiple enemies on multiple fronts. During the early years of the war, mainly from 1940 to 1942, the British Army suffered defeats in almost every theater of war in which it was deployed. But, from late 1942 onward, beginning with the Second Battle of El Alamein, the British Army's fortunes changed and it rarely suffered another defeat.Although there were a number of reasons for this change, not the least of which was the entry of both the Soviet Union and the United States in 1941, as well as the cracking of the Enigma code in the same year, an important factor was the stronger British Army. This included better equipment, leadership, training, better military intelligence and mass conscription that enabled the army to expand to form larger armies and army groups , as well as create new specialized formations such as the Special Air Service (SAS), Special Boat Service ( SBS), Commandos and Parachute Regiment. During the course of the war, eight men would be promoted to the rank of field marshal , the highest rank in the army.By the end of World War II, in September 1945, more than 3.5 million men and women had served in the British Army, which had suffered some 720,000 casualties during the conflict.
