Go to cartImperial Japanese Army Infantry Figurine Set No. 2 1/35 Scale - Fine Molds Model.Formally, the Empire of Japan entered World War II with the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, but from 1937 Japan conducted large-scale military operations in China. By the end of 1941, the Japanese army consisted of 51 divisions that, together with numerous separate units, had a strength of about 1.7 million. More than half of these forces (27 divisions) were stationed in China. The basic type of armed force in the Japanese army was, of course, infantry. Interestingly, in 1938, the Japanese infantry divisions underwent an organization, as a result of which most (but not all!) It was composed of 3 infantry regiments and each regiment was composed of 3 infantry battalions. At the division level, the infantry regiments were also joined by staff subunits, an artillery regiment, a cavalry battalion, an engineer battalion, as well as transportation, communication and medical units. In total, the Japanese infantry division (the so-called Type B) had about 19,800 full-time employees. It is worth adding that it had relatively weak anti-tank and anti-aircraft armament, and its supporting artillery was usually 70 or 75 mm caliber. Artillery units with artillery above 100 mm caliber were rare. It should also be mentioned that Japanese infantry units were characterized by very high morale, almost fanatical, with iron discipline, but also (especially after 1942) were clearly inferior tactically or in firepower to their Allied opponents. It should also not be forgotten that Japanese infantry units committed a great many war crimes, bearing the hallmarks of crimes against humanity, with the gruesome Nanking massacre at the turn of 1937 and 1938 at the forefront.

IJA Figurines Japanese Type 41 75 mm Mountain Cannon "Mountain Artillery Regiment" in 1/35 scale - Fine Molds Model. The Type 41 cannon was a 75 mm Japanese infantry support cannon of World War I, the interwar period, and World War II. The cannon remained in service with the Japanese Army in 1908-1945. The initial velocity of the high-impact missile hovered around 435 m/s, with a maximum range of 7,020 meters. The Type 41 cannon was a licensed cannon developed by the German Krupp factories, called the Krupp M.08. It was originally used in the Japanese Army as a mountain gun, for which it was also designed. Such use was favored by the cannon's relatively low weight, its compactness, and the fact that it could be carried in its entirety by service soldiers, without the aid of pack animals or motor vehicles. However, in the 1930s, with the entry into service of the Type 94 cannon, the Type 41 began to be used as a support weapon for traditional infantry, but it performed much worse in this role. Nevertheless, it remained in service until the end of World War II.

German Paratrooper Figurines (Crete 1941) 1/35 scale - model Zvezda.Operation Mercury (Ger. Unternehmen Merkur) is the German code name for the airborne operation carried out in Crete from May 20 to June 1, 1941. On the German side, about 22,000 to 24,000 soldiers took part in the operation, supported by about 1,200 aircraft of all types under the command of General Kurt Student. On the Allied side, about 42,000 soldiers (including, among others, 18,000 British and 11,000 Greeks) under the command of General Bernard Freyberg fought. It is worth adding that Operation Mercury is the largest German operation of its kind during World War II. Activities began on May 20, 1941, with an airborne landing by the 7th Airborne Division and Luftlandesturmregiment in strength of a total of about 10,000 in northern Crete. Despite very high losses, the German paratroopers managed to fortify the airfield area in the town of Maleme and effectively cripple road traffic behind the Allied forces. General Kurt Student, despite heavy losses on May 20, decided to continue the fight and on May 21 to concentrate operations in the Maleme area. On the same day, the Germans seized the airport near the town, and from May 21 to 25 a significant part of the 5th Mountain Division and heavy equipment were transferred to Crete. On May 22, units of German paratroopers and mountain infantry attacked toward the eastern part of the island. On May 26-28, due to chaotic decision-making and weak command of the Allied forces, the Germans succeeded in capturing two important cities, Chania and South. Although the German side captured a very important island in the Mediterranean basin in less than two weeks, it suffered significant losses, estimated at a minimum of about 3,400 killed and about 2,600 wounded. 370 aircraft were also destroyed or damaged.Fallschirmjäger is the collective term for German airborne units of the interwar and World War II periods. The first parachute unit was organized in Nazi Germany in 1936, perhaps as a result of observations made during Soviet maneuvers the previous year. The first parachute team was created at the initiative of Herman Göring and was assigned to the Luftwaffe. A year later (1937), the first such unit was subordinated to the Wehrmacht, and more specifically to the ground forces. In 1938, these units were combined and expanded to form the 7th Airborne Division under the command of General Kurt Student. It consisted of parachute infantry, troops trained in glider transport, and infantry transported to the battlefield by airplanes. During World War II, more Fallschirmjäger units were created, incl. in 1943, based on the 7th Aviation Division, the 1st and 2nd Parachute Divisions were established. During 1939-1941, the German Fallschirmjäger was used for its intended purpose (e.g., during the fighting in Western Europe in 1940), but after the heavy losses suffered during the fighting in Crete in 1941, German parachute troops began to be used primarily as elite infantry units, in which role they proved very effective, earning them the nickname "Green Devils" among the Allies.

Go to cartGerman Waffen Grenadier Figurines 1944-45 1/35 scale - DRAGON model.German 1/35 scale miniatures are always popular with modelers, and Dragon's latest set will not fail to please them! It features four soldiers from the late war period, and the set will be extremely versatile, as the miniatures can be used separately or, alternatively, combined to create a coherent image. The poses are generic enough to fit any vehicle from the 1944-45 period, but still possess an individual touch. The soldiers represent members of the Waffen, an elite force that at its peak grew into a powerful formation of 38 divisions. It was the armed arm of the Schutzstaffel ("Protection Squadron") of the Third Reich and was never part of the Heer's regular army chain of command. These four 1/35 scale Waffen grenadiers are finely sculpted in plastic. The poses are extremely realistic, with the sharp folds of their camouflage clothing accurately rendered. Of particular note is the NCO wearing a hooded parka pulled over his steel helmet, with the hood faithfully recreated in this miniature. Each soldier is equipped with his own Gen2 weapons and personal equipment, and soldiers could be deployed with equal effectiveness on both the Western and Eastern fronts. Weapons in the set include Kar98k rifles, an MP40 machine gun, a Panzerfaust and a StG44 assault rifle. Being panzergrenadiers, these figures are designed to accompany armored vehicles and will undoubtedly prove a boon to diorama makers.

Go to cartSoviet Infantry Figurines. Berlin 1945 in 1/35 scale - Zvezda model. In 1945, Berlin was conquered in 17 days. Soviet troops completed the assault on the capital of the Third Reich on May 2, 1945, raising the flag on the Reichstag. Soviet rifle divisions bore the brunt of the battles on the Eastern Front of World War II, and the best ones received the honorary title of Guardsmen. Guard rifle companies were often the basis for the creation of assault squads, which took an active part in assaults on German cities. From 1943, troops began to receive the 7.62 mm caliber machine gun designed by A.I. Sudaev, called the PPS-43.ROKS-2 knapsack flamethrowers and portable machine guns of V.A. Degtyaryov design reinforced the assault teams.
