The helicopter's airframe is designed to withstand intensive use in all operational environments, including long-range missions, thanks to a range of 800 km. In addition, the adoption of retractable landing gear significantly improves aerodynamics during flight phases. The combination of these features has, over time, established the reputation of the "Super Puma" as a robust and reliable helicopter, ideal for the most demanding and complex military and civilian missions. It has also been continuously upgraded in terms of avionics and electronic navigation support systems to further extend its service life.The AS 332 Super Puma is a modern medium multi-role helicopter produced by the Eurocopter Group consortium (now part of Airbus Helicopters). The prototype flight took place in 1978 and the machine entered service in the same year. The helicopter--in the SA 332 L1 version--has a fuselage length of 16.79 meters and a rotor diameter of 16.2 meters. Guidance is provided by two Turbomeca Makila 1A2 engines with a capacity of 1845 KM each. The helicopter has a classic layout with a single main rotor and a propeller on the tail boom.The AS 332 Super Puma helicopter was developed by the French aviation company Aerospatiale as a far-reaching development of the highly successful SA 330 Puma machines intended for both the military and civilian markets. Compared with its predecessor, the machine received a completely new powerplant, an almost completely redesigned hull (although externally very similar to the SA 330), a new frame, and the entire structure was clearly strengthened. Finally, a machine was created, externally similar to the SA 330, but offering much greater combat capabilities and improved performance. In the course of production, numerous development versions were made, including: AS 332 B 1 (the first mass-produced military version), AS 332 C 1 (maritime version intended for search and rescue tasks) or AS 332 F 1 (maritime version of the helicopter intended for combat tasks). Flight of the first prototype took place in 1962, and mass production that began in 1969-in the case of the civilian version-continues to this day. An estimated 105 copies of the ego helicopter have been built.The Sikorsky CH-54 was created as a result of the U.S. Army's demand for a heavy transport helicopter capable of operating in harsh conditions. Only three development versions of this machine were created in the course of mass production. The first was a prototype series called the YCH-54A. They were also equipped with additional armored protection for the crew and some critical components. During the Vietnam War, three test ACH-47 Chinooks, nicknamed "Easy Money," "Stump Jumper," and "Birth Control," were deployed for six months on temporary duty in Vietnam. A fourth ACH-47A, dubbed "Cost of Living," was the prototype and remained in the United States for flight testing. Although these armed aircraft successfully passed the evaluation period, each destroyed all assigned targets, three succumbed to fate.

Britain and Uruguay Westland Wessex HC.2 Helicopter Kit in 1/72 scale - Airfix model The Westland Wessex was a British all-metal multi-role helicopter with fixed three-mounted landing gear, in a classic configuration with main rotor and tail rotor on beam. Propulsion was provided by two Bristol Siddeley Gnome Mk.110/111 turboshaft engines of 1369 hp each. The first prototype flew in 1958, and mass production continued from 1958 to 1970. About 360 examples of this successful helicopter were made. The Westland Wessex was produced under a U.S. license from the Sikorsky H-34 helicopter, but underwent numerous modifications: first, different engines, a different power transmission and, in later versions, increasingly improved avionics were used. As a result, while maintaining the outward resemblance, the Westland Wessex was a very different vehicle from the Sikorski H-34. In the course of series production, several development versions were created. The first of them, named HAS.1, served initially as an anti-submarine helicopter (ZOP) and later as a search and rescue helicopter. Another version (HAS.3) was intended for ZOP operations and had much more comprehensive avionics than the HAS.1 version. Helicopters of this type were exported to several countries, including Australia, Oman, and Iraq.

Boeing Chinook HC.1 (Late) Helicopter Kit 1/72 scale - Airfix model Who can resist the allure of a Boeing Chinook model kit? This 1:72 scale version reproduces the last Chinook in service, assembled with 171 components and two scheme options. Which one will you choose? History Having entered RAF service in 1980, the mighty Boeing Chinook HC.1 has benefited from near-constant upgrades and acquisitions, becoming an essential component of British military capabilities. Indeed, it seems that the only aircraft capable of replacing a Chinook is another Chinook, a situation that will not change for many years. Since the latest Chinooks are among the most advanced aircraft currently in the Royal Air Force, the Chinook retention program will ensure that these aircraft can continue to serve the nation in a way that only Chinooks can, for at least the next two decades. The CH-47 Chinook is an American-made heavy transport helicopter, dating back to the Cold War and modern times, currently (2019) manufactured by Boeing Helicopters. The prototype flew in 1961 and the machine entered service in 1962. The CH-47F version of the helicopter has an overall length of 30.1 meters and a rotor diameter of 18.3 meters. It is propelled by two Lycoming T55-GA-714A engines of 4733 hp each. Its maximum speed in horizontal flight reaches 315 km/h. The helicopter has a tandem twin-rotor system and no tail beam. Work on the CH-47 Chinook began in the late 1950s, when the U.S. Army wanted to replace the CH-37 Mojave helicopter with a completely new craft with a much more modern engine and better performance. In the end, a helicopter was created with an unusual tandem system, but one that met the requirements. It also, as it turned out over time, had ample potential for modernization. During production, numerous development versions of this successful transport helicopter were created, including: CH-47A (the first mass-produced version), CH-47B (version with more powerful engines and redesigned hull) or CH-47F (version tested in 2001, with significantly modernized avionics, new engine and chassis). The CH-47 Chinook helicopter achieved considerable popularity and, in different versions, has been or is still used by countries such as the United States, Egypt, Greece, and Canada.
