Go to cartWWII DAK Infantry North Africa Figurines 1/72 Scale - Italeri Figurine Set.Afrika Korps (full German name: Deutsches Afrikakorps, abbreviated to DAK) is colloquially understood as the collective name for the German ground units that fought in North Africa in 1941-1943. The Afrika Korps was formed in February 1941, following the painful defeats suffered by the Italian army during the battles with the British in Africa at the turn of 1940/1941. Its main task was to come to the aid of the Italian ally and stop the advance of British troops into Libya. The unit's commander was a general, and later a field marshal, Erwin Rommel. Initially, the DAK consisted only of the 5th Light Division (later transformed into the 21st Armored Division), in May 1941 it was joined by the 15th Armored Division and at the end of 1941 by the 90th Light Division. It is worth adding that already in mid-1941 the Panzergruppe Afrika, led by Erwin Rommel, was founded and joined by the Afrika Korps. Despite its defensive tasks, the DAK (or more generally the Panzergruppe Afrika) very quickly after the landing - at the initiative of its commander - entered strictly offensive operations, inflicting a series of desert defeats on the British in 1941-1942. However, it was then that its commander was nicknamed Desert Fox. At the same time, however, from the beginning, DAK was troubled by supply problems, which negatively impacted its ability to conduct offensive actions. It suffered a significant defeat in the Second Battle of El Alamein (October-November 1942), which forced DAK to retreat as far as Tunisia, where it fought until May 1943.

Go to cart"Black Hussars" figures of Frederick the Great (Seven Years' War) in 1/72 scale - Zvezda model.Frederick II the Great, on ascending the Prussian throne in 1740, inherited from his father (Frederick William I) undoubtedly one of the best armies in Europe at the time, which, however, was not an ideal army and required changes. The first skirmishes and battles of the War for the Austrian Succession (1740-1748) clearly showed that major corrections and reforms awaited the Prussian cavalry. They also showed the need to create light cavalry units, which included, among others, the 5th Hussar Regiment formed in August 1741, which was later called the Black Hussar Regiment (German Schwarze Husaren Regiment). As early as September of this year, five squadrons of this regiment were formed and its first historical commander Major von Mackroth became its commander. It is worth adding that even then the soldiers of the regiment were distinguished by black uniforms and a skull with crossbones on a fur cap. The Black Hussar Regiment took an active part in the Second Silesian War (1744-1745) and the Seven Years' War. In the latter war, among others, it fought at Zorndorf in 1758. It is worth adding that the regiment remained in the structures of the Prussian Army and later the German Army until 1919.

Go to cartU.S. Tank Riders (Winter 1944-45) 1/35 scale - MINIART model. These U.S. infantrymen represent armored troops during the 1944-45 winter campaign. Equipped with anti-cold weather gear, they were commonly seen aboard armored vehicles while moving between positions.Set includes 4 characters in winter clothingDetailed uniforms, equipment and weaponsNatural poses suitable for tank driving scenesAlready after the first combat experiences in North Africa at the turn of 1942-1943, the U.S. Army changed the position of the U.S. infantry division. From 1943, each infantry division had three full-time infantry regiments, which in turn consisted of three infantry battalions. In addition, the infantry regiment also included other units, for example: an anti-tank company, an artillery company, or a staff company. In total, the U.S. Army Infantry Regiment had about 3,100 soldiers. It should also be mentioned that the division also included a strong artillery component consisting of four artillery battalions: 3 light and 1 medium, most often armed with 105- and 155-mm howitzers. There was also, among others, an engineering battalion, a repair company, a reconnaissance unit, and a Military Police platoon. In total, the U.S. Infantry Division had about 14,200 personnel as of 1943. It fairly clearly dominated the artillery over the German division and had much better and, more importantly, fully motorized transportation assets, making it a highly mobile tactical formation. It also had much richer "individual" anti-tank weapons in the form of a large number of bazooka launchers, of which there were over 500 in the entire division.

The set includes 4 miniatures and a variety of accessories such as jerry cans, oil drums and toolboxes, perfect for enhancing vehicle dioramas or workshops.Highly detailed figures of 4 U.S. repairmenIncludes toolboxes, fuel drums, and maintenance accessoriesRealistic poses for diorama compositionPerfect addition to Allied vehicle and workshop scenesDuring World War II, the U.S. Air Force, the USAAF (United States Army Air Force), was not a type of independent armed force and was formally under Army command. Due to their excellent industrial base and efficient organization, they became the most powerful air force in the world during World War II. It is also worth mentioning that the USAAF grew enormously in terms of personnel - in 1939 it had about 25,000 people, but at its peak, that is, in the summer of 1944 - as many as 2,400,000 people! So in five years they grew almost 100 times! In this number, about 300,000. were officers, while about 2.1 million were privates and non-commissioned officers, mainly from the ground service. Despite such enormous growth, the USAAF implemented effective training systems and methods that enabled the overwhelming portion of the above personnel to perform their duties efficiently. It can also be mentioned that all kinds of technical and mechanical facilities have been used on a large scale in ground support work, which has reduced the number of hours required to get a given machine to takeoff and flight. It is worth mentioning that the number of U.S. air bases abroad also increased significantly, in December 1941 there were 19 and in May 1945 up to 130!
