Renault Estafette Highroof car kit in 1/24 scale - Heller model. It is often assumed that the Renault 4 (ref. Heller 80759), launched in 1961, was Renault's first front-wheel drive car. It was not. It was the 1959 Renault Estafette utility vehicle. French competitors at the time were the Peugeot D3A/D4B and the Citroën Type H (ref. Heller 80768). In Germany, VW offered the rear-engine bus. Ford had the Taunus-Transit with a look very similar to the Estafette, with front engine and rear wheel drive. The Estafette was based on the Citroën's front-wheel drive system, thus offering a large flat load floor, four independent suspensions, a sliding side door, and a three-wing rear door. It was initially produced as a van with a payload of 800 kg and, from 1965, with a payload of 1,000 kg, with a flat or high roof and a short or long wheelbase. Produced in over 500,000 examples until 1980, the Estafette became a symbol of its era. Citroen DS 19 Cabriolet car kit in 1/24 scale - Heller model.CITROËN executives believed that the standard of living of the French and Europeans was rising. The 2 CV had just been successfully launched on the market and a successor needed to be found for the 15 and 11 CV. The VGD (Grand Series) project, whose first plans dated back to 1945, began to take shape. André LEFEBVRE, appointed head of the project, decided that the car should be innovative in every respect. The bodywork was by Flaminio Bertoni and the suspension by Paul Magès. As for the engine, Paul Bercot updated the design of the old 1911 cc D engine. By the end of 1954, the design was completed. In October 1955, the car made its debut at the 42nd Paris Motor Show. The most striking thing about the car was its lines. The design was totally new. France was divided into two groups: those who liked it and those who didn't. But the bodywork was not the only novelty. Hydropneumatic suspension offered unparalleled comfort with four-wheel independent suspension. Plastic became an important element in the bodywork, roof panel and rear window, and lightweight alloys for the engine hood that used plastic. There were other innovations as well: a single-spoke steering wheel, tapered turn signals, and doors without window frames. The first convertibles were initially designed by BERTONI and marketed by CHAPRON. The standard convertibles were mounted on ID 19 bases and the cars were offered with leather interiors. The convertible was first put on the market at the 1961 Motor Show, priced at 22,000 French francs. By comparison, a Dauphine at the time sold for 6,000 French francs.More product informationHeight : 0.0 mmWidth : 111.0 mmLength : 298.0 mmScale : 1:16

These aircraft are known for their ruggedness and ability to operate in harsh conditions, and were widely used by various armed forces, especially in Europe and other regions during the post-war period. Nord 2501 Noratlas The North 2501 Noratlas was a military transport aircraft designed for low-altitude, short-runway operations, essential for transporting troops, equipment and supplies in harsh environments. The design was a response to the growing need for transport aircraft that could operate in unprepared territories, such as in former French colonies and wartime scenarios. General characteristics Type: Military transport aircraft Country of origin: France Manufacturer: Société des Avions Nord Entry into service: 1953 Length: 20,3 m Wingspan: 30,2 m Height: 8,1 m Empty weight: 9,000 kg Maximum take-off weight: 16,500 kg Engine and performance Engine: 2 × Gnome-Rhône 14R-4/5 (14-cylinder radials) Power: 2,200 hp each Top speed: 435 km/h Autonomy: 2,000 km Operating tangency: 7.500 m Climbing speed: 5 m/s Capacity and armament Crew: 3 members (pilot, co-pilot, flight engineer) Carrying capacity: 30 equipped soldiers or 5,000 kg of cargo Or 18 stretchers for medical evacuation Armament: Unarmed, but some versions were equipped with machine guns for defensive purposes. Special Air Operations: Because of its ability to operate in short, unprepared runways, it was used for missions in countries with limited infrastructure, such as in Africa and former French colonies. Medical evacuation and rescue missions: The aircraft was also used to transport the wounded and in rescue missions during conflicts. North 2502 Noratlas The Nord 2502 Noratlas was a variant of the Nord 2501, but differed in some improvements in transport capabilities and greater operational flexibility. The Nord 2502 was used primarily in the French air force, but also by other nations, including Germany, Greece, Turkey, and other African countries. Features The Nord 2502 included modifications to improve maneuverability and cargo capability, making it an even more versatile aircraft for close air support and transport missions. It featured a turboprop engine configuration that provided greater efficiency than previous models. Conclusion The North 2501 and North 2502 Noratlas are examples of multi-role transport aircraft that played a key role in the air forces of several countries, especially in colonial and military operations during the mid-20th century. Their ability to operate on short, unprepared runways made them ideal for missions in difficult scenarios and distant territories, making them a symbol of military transport aviation.

In addition, it was the first mass-produced car to have front-wheel drive (hence the name "Traction Avant"), another significant step forward in automotive design. Its principal designer was André Lefèbvre, who worked under the direction of Pierre-Jules Boulanger, the general manager of Citroën. Austin Mini car kit in 1/43 scale - Heller model. The Austin Mini is one of the most iconic cars in automotive history, produced by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) from 1959 to 2000. The Mini became such a symbol of style, efficiency and innovation that its popularity endured for decades. It was designed with the intention of offering a compact and affordable car, but with a design that did not compromise comfort and practicality. History and Development The Austin Mini was designed by British engineer Sir Alec Issigonis. Its design had the goal of creating a car that could be used in the city, offering an economical engine, small size to facilitate parking and driving in tight spaces, but at the same time incredible maneuverability and surprising cargo capacity for its size. The car was launched as the Mini 850, but was marketed under the Austin brand and also under the Morris brand (both owned by the British Motor Corporation). The Mini quickly became a popular car, not only for families, but also for its performance in competitions, such as the famous Monte Carlo Rally, where the Mini scored several victories. Key features Type: Two- or four-door compact car Production: 1959 to 2000 Engine: Four-cylinder engine, varying in different models (from 848 cc to 1,275 cc in the most powerful models) Power: From about 34 hp (in early models) to 65 hp (in more powerful versions such as the Mini Cooper) Dimensions: Length: 3.05 m Width: 1.41 m Height: 1.35 m Cargo Capacity: Despite its compact size, the Mini was surprisingly spacious inside due to its seating arrangement and innovative design. Variants and Models Over the years, several versions of the Mini were produced, with variations in both design and performance: Mini 850 (1959) - The base model with an 848 cc engine. Mini Cooper (1961) - Sports version, designed in collaboration with engineer John Cooper, which became famous for its performance on the track. Mini Cooper S (1963) - Upgraded version of the Cooper, with larger engine and specifically designed for competition. Mini Clubman (1969) - Version with a slightly modified design, with a longer nose and more space inside. Mini Special (1979) - A limited version with distinctive details and an updated version of the engine. Cultural Impact The Austin Mini has become an iconic car in British culture, and has appeared in numerous films and television series, including the famous film "The Italian Job" (1969), where Minis were used for spectacular city chases. It was also a car that represented the counterculture movement of the 1960s, much loved by young people and students for its affordability, agility, and unique styling. Production and Legacy Production of the Austin Mini continued in various forms until 2000, when the brand was acquired by BMW, which relaunched an updated version with a more modern design but still inspired by the original Mini. The Mini is still a popular car around the world, with a strong base of collectors and enthusiasts, and continues to be a part of global car culture.
