Kit aereo KAWANISHI NIK2-J EARLY TYPE in scala 1/72 - Modello Aoshima.

Kit aereo Kawanishi N1K1-Jb Shiden Type 11 in scala 1/72 - Modello Aoshima.

Kit aereo Kawanishi N1K1-Jb Shiden Type 11 in scala 1/72 - Modello Aoshima.

Armor: Belt armor: 305 mm Bridge armor: 70-200 mm Turrets: up to 457 mm Operational history: Interwar period: The Nagato was considered one of the most powerful warships in the world at the time of her commissioning. She served as the flagship of the Japanese Combined Fleet until 1942. She was modernized in the 1930s, improving protection, speed, and anti-aircraft armament. World War II: Planning the Attack on Pearl Harbor: Nagato was used as the headquarters for the naval command during the planning of the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. She participated in various operations in the Pacific, but her direct participation in combat was limited. During the Battle of Leyte Gulf (1944), Nagato was one of the few Japanese battleships present, but did not play a decisive role. Final years: Toward the end of the conflict, due to fuel shortages and Allied air superiority, the Nagato was relegated to coastal defense and training roles. It suffered damage during U.S. bombing raids in 1945. After the war: Captured by the U.S. at the end of the war, she was used as a target ship for the Operation Crossroads nuclear tests at Bikini Atoll in 1946. She survived the first nuclear test but sank after the second due to damage. Final summary: The Nagato was an innovative Japanese battleship that embodied the power of the Imperial Navy during the first half of the 20th century. A symbol of modernity and strength, the ship helped define the era of large battleships. Although its operational impact during World War II was limited, its ultimate fate as a target in nuclear tests made it a symbol of the transition from conventional wars to an era dominated by the atomic threat.

Tragic End (1943): On June 8, 1943, an internal explosion devastated the Mutsu while she was anchored in Hashirajima Bay. The cause of the explosion remains uncertain, but it is believed that it may have been sabotage or an ammunition accident. The sinking claimed the lives of more than 1,100 crewmen. Final Summary: The Japanese Battleship Mutsu was one of the most prestigious ships in the Imperial Japanese Navy, representing the country's naval power in the 1920s and 1930s.
