Soviet Heavy Tank KV-2 tank kit in 1/72 scale - Zvezda model. The KV-2 was a Soviet heavy tank developed at the beginning of World War II, belonging to the KV (Kliment Voroshilov) family. Designed for assault support and elimination of enemy fortifications, the KV-2 was distinguished by its large turret and powerful 152 mm cannon. Key technical features: Type: Heavy assault tank Manufacturer: Kirov Plant, Soviet Union Year of Production: 1940-1941 Weight: About 52 tons Length: 6.8 m (without cannon) Width: 3.3 m Height: 4.9 m Crew: 6 men Armor: Up to 110 mm (hull and turret front) Engine and performance: Engine: 12-cylinder V-2K diesel Power: 600 HP Top speed: 25 km/h on road, 10-12 km/h off-road Autonomy: About 140 km on road Armament: 1 M-10T 152 mm cannon (with about 36 rounds) 3 DT 7.62 mm machine guns (for close defense) The 152 mm gun was derived from an artillery howitzer and could fire explosive projectiles capable of destroying fortifications and bunkers. However, the reloading speed was slow and the tank was vulnerable to close-quarters attacks. Operational role and employment: The KV-2 was designed for assault support and destruction of enemy fortifications, with armor that made it almost invulnerable to anti-tank guns of the time. However, its heavy weight and large turret compromised its mobility and maneuverability. Employed mainly in 1941, duringOperation Barbarossa Effective against enemy fortifications and positions Vulnerable to lateral attacks and mechanical problems Due to its weight and poor mobility, the KV-2 was soon withdrawn from active service and replaced by more versatile tanks such as the KV-1 and later theIS-2. Conclusion: The KV-2 was an impressive tank in terms of its firepower and armor, but its operational limitations made its use limited. Nevertheless, it remains one of the most iconic tanks of World War II, a symbol of Soviet heavy tank doctrine.

Brand ZVEZDA
Scale: 1/72
Nation: Russia
Period: WWII
Type: Veicoli Militari

Kit carro armato Soviet Tank T-70 in scala 1/72 - Modello Zvezda.

Soviet LaGG-3 fighter plane kit in 1/48 scale - Zvezda model. The LaGG-3 was a Soviet single-seat fighter aircraft used during World War II, developed by Lavochkin, Gorbunov and Gudkov, after whom it was named (LaGG). Derived from the predecessor model LaGG-1, the LaGG-3 was designed to improve aircraft performance while maintaining a lightweight structure built primarily of wood, as aluminum was a scarce resource in the Soviet Union during the conflict. Key features Type: Single-seat fighter. Engine: V-12 Klimov M-105P engine. Maximum speed: Approximately 575 km/h. Armament: One 20-mm cannon mounted in the center. Two 7.62-mm ShKAS machine guns. Could be equipped with rockets and light bombs for attacks against ground targets. Structure: The wooden fuselage made it relatively cheap and quick to build, although it was also more vulnerable to shell damage. Employment and Role. Used by the Soviet Air Force primarily as an interceptor fighter, for protection of troops on the ground and on bomber escort missions. It was operational on various fronts, and although it had inferior performance compared to German fighters such as the Messerschmitt Bf 109, the LaGG-3 proved to be effective mainly in experienced hands due to its maneuverability. Evolution Although it was reliable, the LaGG-3 was gradually replaced by the Lavochkin La-5, which mounted a more powerful radial engine and filled performance gaps compared to enemy aircraft.

Scale: 1/72

Period: V-IV Secolo
Type: Ships
Category Kit

Greek Triera kit 1/72 scale - Zvezda model.Model length 49 cm. The triera was one of the most advanced and powerful warships used in ancient Greece, particularly famous for its use in naval battles between the 5th and 4th centuries BC. The term "triera" comes from the ancient Greek word "trieres," meaning "three rows," referring to the three-tiered arrangement of oarsmen along the sides of the ship. Key features: Structure and dimensions: The triera was a long and narrow ship, with a length of about 37 meters and a width of about 4-6 meters. The ship had a crew of about 170 oarsmen, arranged on three overlapping levels, and about ten soldiers on board, in addition to the helmsman and commander. Propulsion: The main propulsion was provided by the oarsmen, which enabled the ship to reach high speeds. The triera was also equipped with a sail that was used in quieter sailing, but during combat it relied almost exclusively on the oars to maneuver quickly. Armament: The main weapon of the triera was the rostrum, a bronze point mounted on the bow of the ship, designed to ramm and sink enemy ships. In addition to the rostrum, triremes carried a small number of armed soldiers who could fight in battle once in contact with the enemy vessel. Wartime employment: Triremes were crucial to the naval powers of ancient Greece, such as Athens, and were instrumental in some of the most important naval battles in Greek history, such as the Battle of Salamis in 480 BC, where the Greek fleet defeated the Persian fleet. They were used in blockade operations, swift attacks and direct engagements at sea, taking advantage of their maneuverability and speed. Crew: The crew was composed of freemen and citizens, especially in the cases of city-states such as Athens, which based their naval force on a merchant and war navy made up of citizens. Summary: The Greek triera represented the pinnacle of ancient Greek naval technology, designed to be fast, maneuverable, and lethal in combat. Its power came from the combination of the strength of oarsmen and rostrum, and it was essential in the naval wars of antiquity, contributing to the maritime supremacy of powers such as Athens.

Polikarpov I-16 Type 5 Early/Late 1/48 - ZVEZDA 4832
SKU ZVE-4832
Brand ZVEZDA
Scale: 1/48
Nation: Russia
Period: WWII
Type: Aircraft
Category Kit

Polikarpov I-16 Type 5 Early/Late fighter plane kit in 1/48 scale - Zvezda model. The Polikarpov I-16 was a Soviet single-seat fighter designed by Nikolai Polikarpov, which became one of the most advanced combat aircraft of its era. The Type 5 was one of the initial variants produced in the 1930s and was a staple of the Soviet air force during the Spanish Civil War and early World War II. Key features of the Polikarpov I-16 Type 5: Design and structure: The I-16 was a monoplane aircraft with a low wing and retractable undercarriage, a rather innovative feature for its time. It was one of the first fighters with these features, marking a technological leap from the biplanes of the time. The Type 5 had a fuselage made of wood and metal, and was known to be compact and maneuverable, but also difficult for less experienced pilots to fly. Engine: It was equipped with an M-25 engine (a Soviet version of the American Wright Cyclone engine), which provided enough power to reach top speeds of about 450 km/h, making it one of the fastest fighters of the mid-1930s. Armament: The armament of the Type 5 usually consisted of two 7.62 mm PV-1 machine guns mounted on the wings or fuselage. In later versions (Type 10, for example) the armament was increased with more machine guns or cannons, but the Type 5 remained more lightly armed. Wartime employment: The Polikarpov I-16 became most famous for its use during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), where it was nicknamed "Moscow" (by Republicans) and "Rata" (by Nationalist opponents). The Type 5 was also used during the early years of World War II, although at that time it was beginning to be surpassed by more modern fighters such as the Messerschmitt Bf 109. Maneuverability and performance: It was extremely maneuverable and agile, making it effective in aerial combat, but its stability in flight left something to be desired, requiring well-trained pilots. Later variants of the I-16 attempted to address some of its limitations, but the Type 5 remained a benchmark for the evolution of the Soviet fighter. Summary: The Polikarpov I-16 Type 5 was one of the most advanced fighter aircraft of the 1930s, with cutting-edge features such as retractable undercarriage and monoplane structure. Despite its difficult handling, the I-16 played a crucial role in the wars of its time, earning a reputation for both its performance and technical innovations.

Soviet KV-1 heavy tank kit in 1/72 scale - Zvezda model. The KV-1 was a Soviet heavy tank used during World War II. Designed in the 1930s and entered service in 1939, it was named after Soviet leader Kliment Vorošilov (hence the name "KV"). Key features: Armor: The KV-1 was known for its thick armor, making it one of the toughest tanks of its time. It could withstand fire from most German anti-tank guns in the early years of the war. Armament: it was equipped with a 76.2 mm main gun, which provided good offensive capability. Mobility: the tank, although well armored, suffered from mobility and speed problems due to its high weight (about 45 tons), which reduced its efficiency in the field. Operational history: The KV-1 played an important role in the early stages of the conflict, especially during the German invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941 (Operation Barbarossa). Its thick armor created difficulties for German forces, but in time it was surpassed by more advanced tanks and more powerful anti-tank weapons, such as the Panzer IV and Tiger. Despite its limitations, the KV-1 left a significant mark as one of the first heavy tanks of the war.

Russian Infantry of World War I 1914-1918 in 1/72 scale - Zvezda Figurine Set.The set consists of 40 unpainted soldiers and 1 cast %3B4 machine gun At the beginning of the 20th century, infantry was the main branch of the army in the armies of almost all world powers. The Russian army was no exception, and the importance of infantry in its composition can hardly be overstated. Thanks to a fairly large population, which significantly exceeded that of any European country, the Russian Empire could afford to form the largest army. If at the beginning of World War I the Russian army differed little in equipment and weapons from the armies of Germany, Austria-Hungary, or France, by the fall of 1914 the numerical superiority of the Russian infantry became a decisive factor in the battles Only the fortitude and courage of Russian soldiers made it possible to survive in the battles of 1915-1916, when it was often necessary to fight against machine guns and cannons with bayonets only. At the same time, the Russian army not only held back the troops of the German Empire, but also destroyed the Austrian and Turkish corps. The Russian infantryman's equipment and weapons were generally not inferior to the accepted standards in Europe. He was armed with a 7.62 mm Mosin repeating rifle with a triangular bayonet and a %3BMaxim%3B heavy machine gun. But insufficient supply and technical support remained a serious problem. They had to be compensated using the latest provisions of military theory. Thus, the Russian army switched to khaki uniforms before the French and Germans. The Russian infantry showed its best qualities in the battles of World War I: tenacity in defense and tenacity in offense, initiative and discipline.
