And what class in the U.S. Navy did she belong to? The Longbeach was a nuclear-powered missile launcher cruiser that entered service on September 9, 1961. She also had the distinction of being the first completely new U.S. cruiser since World War II, and since cruisers have generally since then been based simply on larger destroyer hulls, her crew appropriately described her as "The Only True Cruiser." The USS Longbeach had a pair of 5-inch .38-caliber guns mounted amidships, and at the time of her decommissioning in July 1994, the upgraded cruiser had two Standard missile launchers, two Tomahawk cruise missile launchers, two Phalanx CIWS missile launchers, and a Harpoon. The cruiser's service was concentrated in the Atlantic Fleet from 1961 to 1966, before being transferred to the California coast. She took part in fighting in the Gulf of Tonkin during the Vietnam War and lasted long enough to provide support during the 1991 Gulf War. USS Longbeach, this unique military ship, served for 33 years before settling in its current resting place in Puget Sound, Washington.Cyber ??Hobby has produced a superb 1/700 scale kit of this nuclear-powered cruiser. The market has been exceptionally receptive to Cyber ??Hobby's line of 1/700 scale warships due to their high quality and unique subjects compared to other products available on the market. Item No. 7091 will be no exception. It is an excellent model, and apart from the two central turrets, the ship is completely new. The components are cleverly designed to assemble precisely and smoothly, plus the detail rendered by the plastic is exemplary. The original USS Longbeach was a unique ship, and this 1/700 scale model is equally special.

She was retired from service in 1998, and later sold to the Taiwan Navy, where she serves today as ROCS Tso Ying (DDG-1803). Conclusion USS Kidd (DDG-993) was a sophisticated and powerful destroyer, representative of the U.S. Navy's transition to multi-purpose fleets equipped with advanced missile systems. Although born of a canceled contract, she became an important asset to the U.S. fleet, and continues her operational life in another navy.

Tank kit Sd.Kfz. 250/9Ausf. A (2 cm KwK) Complete 2-in-1 interior - 250/9Z or 250/9E in 1/35 scale - Model Dragon.Sd.Kfz 250 was a German World War II light armored half-track transport. The first prototypes of the vehicle were made in 1939, and mass production continued during 1940-1944, ending with the production of about 6,700 units. The Sd.Kfz 250 was powered by a Maybach HL 42 TRKM six-cylinder engine with 100 hp .The Sd.Kfz 250 was developed as a light, multipurpose reconnaissance vehicle for German armored divisions and panzer grenadiers. During series production, two versions of the Sd.Kfz 250 hull were created: the first (called "alt") had undercut side hull plates and a broken armor plate at the front of the hull. In 1943 the "neu" version was introduced, which was simplified: the hull sides were flat, as was the armor on the front of the car. During World War II several variants and versions of the Sd.Kfz 250 were created. The first chronological version was the Sd.Kfz 250/1, which was the basic version and could function as a light infantry carrier or reconnaissance vehicle. Later appeared the Sd.Kfz 250/3, which was a command version with a long-range frame antenna and a long-range radio. Later, an armed version with an 80-mm mortar (Sd.Kfz 250/7), a 28-mm anti-tank gun (Sd.Kfz 250/11) or a reconnaissance vehicle with a 20-mm gun in a rotating turret (Sd. Kfz 250/9). Sd.Kfz 250 machines of all versions were used primarily in armored divisions and armored grenadiers on virtually all fronts of World War II.

The objective was for the German army to cut the Allied line in half, capture Antwerp, advance northward, encircling and destroying four Allied armies, thus forcing them to negotiate peace.Although unsuccessful, it nevertheless committed enormous amounts of Allied resources, and a slow response to the ensuing disruption of the lines erased months of delay. An alternative analysis is that the offensive allowed the Allies to severely deplete the crème de la crème of the German army outside the defenses of the Western Wall and under poor supply conditions, greatly facilitating the subsequent assault on Germany. In terms of numbers, it is the largest battle ever fought by the U.S. Army.About Dragon's "Magic Tracks":these tracks are ready to assemble, no cleaning required! They even snap together with a friction fit system for easy assembly. Just a light application of glue later-the magic of Magic Tracks!

It is named after the Union commander, General William Sherman, and production exceeded 50,000 units. Dragon has expanded and improved its impressive fleet of 1/35 scale Sherman kits, and the latest release is a Premium Edition version of the M4A3(76)W. The nomenclature of this tank indicates that it was powered by a 500-hp Ford GAA V8 gasoline engine (M4A3), boasted a 76-mm M1 cannon (76) and had a "wet" protective compartment for ammunition (W). The M4A3, the U.S. Army's preferred Sherman variant, began replacing the M4 and M4A1 in 1944. The more powerful 76 mm anti-tank gun was needed to take on the more heavily armored and more powerful German tanks, and began fighting in France from July 1944 onward. In fact, by the end of the war in Europe, half of the U.S. Sherman fleet was equipped with 76mm guns.Dragon's Premium Edition kit depicts an M4A3(76)W with the old Vertical Volute Spring Suspension (VVSS) system. In keeping with its "Premium" status, the kit has received a number of improvements and upgrades. It features a brand new T23 Early Production turret with realistic textures. It features newly crafted T48 tracks made of DS, which boast the added benefit of "duck-billed" Extended End Connectors (EEC), ideal for modeling this tank in a muddy or snowy winter environment. Of course, a number of multimedia elements are also included in the package, such as photo-etched parts and a bonus aluminum cannon barrel. This beautifully detailed model keeps the M4A3 in step with Dragon's recently released Sherman kits. With its improved and bonus components, it will be a must buy for Allied and Sherman tank enthusiasts.
German Waffen Grenadier Figurines 1944-45 1/35 scale - DRAGON model.German 1/35 scale miniatures are always popular with modelers, and Dragon's latest set will not fail to please them! It features four soldiers from the late war period, and the set will be extremely versatile, as the miniatures can be used separately or, alternatively, combined to create a coherent image. The poses are generic enough to fit any vehicle from the 1944-45 period, but still possess an individual touch. The soldiers represent members of the Waffen, an elite force that at its peak grew into a powerful formation of 38 divisions. It was the armed arm of the Schutzstaffel ("Protection Squadron") of the Third Reich and was never part of the Heer's regular army chain of command. These four 1/35 scale Waffen grenadiers are finely sculpted in plastic. The poses are extremely realistic, with the sharp folds of their camouflage clothing accurately rendered. Of particular note is the NCO wearing a hooded parka pulled over his steel helmet, with the hood faithfully recreated in this miniature. Each soldier is equipped with his own Gen2 weapons and personal equipment, and soldiers could be deployed with equal effectiveness on both the Western and Eastern fronts. Weapons in the set include Kar98k rifles, an MP40 machine gun, a Panzerfaust and a StG44 assault rifle. Being panzergrenadiers, these figures are designed to accompany armored vehicles and will undoubtedly prove a boon to diorama makers.
