1/48 Grunau Baby IIB German WWII Glider
The Schneider Grunau Baby was a single-seat glider first built in Germany in 1931, with about 6,000 built in about 20 countries. It was relatively easy to build from the plans, flew well, and the plane was strong enough to handle light aerobatics and the occasional hard landing. When the baby first appeared, it was widely believed that the pilot should feel as much unobstructed airflow as possible, to better sense rising and falling air currents and temperature changes, etc.
