1/48 Mi-24D 3D-Printed & colored Interior on decal paper (Trumpeter) (Small version)
The Mil Mi-24 is an attack and troop-carrying helicopter, Soviet-made first and Russian later, developed by OKB Mil in the 1960s from the Mil Mi-8 and entered service with the Soviet Armed Forces in 1972.
Designed for escort, reconnaissance, air support and counter-tank missions, it is capable of carrying up to 8 equipped men, a capability that earned it the name AIFV, meaning armored flying troop carrier. Characterized by high firepower and heavy armor, with a fuselage capable of withstanding 12.7 mm rounds, it is distinguished by the shape of the cockpit domes and the unique arrangement, for a transport helicopter, of pilot and gunner.
Produced in more than 2,000 examples, it enjoyed considerable commercial success and is still one of the most popular aircraft among the armed forces of former USSR countries as well as those in the developing world and has been used in numerous regional and non-regional conflicts, the first of which was the Ogaden War.
