1/32 FIAT G-50 (CMASA) ARROW (Special Hobby)
l Fiat G.50 "Arrow" was a low-wing, single-engine, single-seat fighter aircraft developed by the Italian company Fiat Aviazione in the 1930s and produced by both it and its subsidiary Costruzioni Meccaniche Aeronautiche S.A. (CMASA).
Italy's first all-metal, retractable undercarriage, closed cockpit single-seat fighter aircraft, it first flew in February 1937 and entered service with the Regia Aeronautica the following year. It was employed by the Legionary Air Force during the Spanish Civil War. Although underpowered and underarmed, it was extremely maneuverable, a characteristic common to Italian fighters of the time. It also found use abroad, in the Croatian air force. Thirty-five examples were given to Finland, where, under the insignia of the Suomen ilmavoimat, the Finnish air force, Fiat's monoplane achieved the greatest successes (99 confirmed air victories) with a win/loss ratio of 33 to 1.
