1/72 M1224A1 Maxx Pro MEAP with MRAP Expedient Armor Program
The International M1224 MaxxPro MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) is an armored combat vehicle designed by the American company Navistar International , a subsidiary of Navistar Defense, together with the Israeli company Plasan Sasa, which designed and manufactures the vehicle's armor. The vehicle was designed to take part in the U.S. Army's Ambush Resistant Mine Protected Vehicle Program , led by the U.S. Marine Corps , as well as a similar Medium Mine Protected Vehicle Program led by the U.S. Army.
MRAPs are classified as either Category 1 or Category 2, depending on use and cockpit space, and Navistar produces the MaxxPro in both sizes, although the vast majority of those sold were Category 1 MRAPs. The MaxxPro Plus model is equipped with dual rear wheels for more cargo capacity, like an ambulance or EFP-protected variant . The latest model produced is the MaxxPro Dash, which is a smaller and lighter Category 1 model. Both the Plus and Dash models use the 375-hp MaxxForce 10 engine, replacing the 330-hp DT 530 used in the original base model produced.
