1/32 Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIb w/Rounded Exhausts LooKplus (for Revell)
The Hawker Hurricane ("Hurricane" in English) was the first modern British fighter aircraft before the outbreak of World War II. Until 1941 the Hurricane was the fighter plane most widely used by the Royal Air Force and the one that sustained the brunt of the first clashes with Luftwaffe aircraft in the skies over France and Britain.
Nearly 3,000 such planes were delivered to the USSR under the Rent and Loan Act, but Soviet pilots were generally very critical of Hawker's fighter, which was considered inferior, not only to German fighters, but also to their own.

Go to cart1/32 Hawker Hurricane Mk. IIb Early Exhaust (for Revell) The Hawker Hurricane is a British single-seat combat aircraft of the 1930s -'40s designed and built predominantly by Hawker Aircraft Ltd. for service with the Royal Air Force (RAF). It was overshadowed in the public consciousness by the Supermarine Spitfire during the Battle of Britain in 1940, but the Hurricane inflicted 60 percent of the Luftwaffe's losses in the campaign and fought in all the major theaters of World War II.The Hurricane originated in discussions between RAF officials and aircraft designer Sir Sydney Camm over a proposed monoplane derivative of the Hawker Fury biplane in the early 1930s. Despite an institutional preference for biplanes and a lack of interest on the part of the Air Ministry , Hawker refined his proposed monoplane, incorporating several innovations that became fundamental to wartime combat aircraft, including retractable landing gear and the more powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin engine . The Air Ministry ordered the Hawker's Interceptor Monoplane in late 1934, and the prototype Hurricane K5083 performed its first flight on November 6, 1935.The Hurricane went into production for the Air Ministry in June 1936 and entered squadron service in December 1937. Its production and maintenance were facilitated using conventional construction methods so that squadrons could perform many major repairs without outside support. The aircraft was quickly acquired before the outbreak of World War II; by September 1939, the RAF had 18 squadrons equipped with the Hurricane in service. It was invoked to defend against German aircraft operated by the Luftwaffe, including aerial combat with Messerschmitt Bf 109s in multiple theaters of action. The Hurricane was developed through several versions: bomber-interceptors, fighter-bombers , ground support aircraft and fighters. The versions designed for the Royal Navy known as Sea Hurricane had modifications that allowed operation from ships. Some were converted as convoy escorts launched from catapults. By the end of production in July 1944, 14,487 units had been completed in Britain and Canada, with others built in Belgium and Yugoslavia.
