1/72 AN/ALQ-101 ECM Pod Short Length F-4, Jaguar, A-7, F-5, F-111, Buccaneer, Vulcan 3D Printing
The AN/ALQ-101 jammed container ( JETDS designation ) was carried by fighter aircraft in order to use electronic countermeasures for self-protection. It was manufactured by the Westinghouse company ( now Northrop Grumman ) and saw active service with a number of air forces for more than four decades. It was one of the most widely used jammers in the Western world .
The AN/ALQ-101 protects combat aircraft from threats from radar-guided air defense systems. It can compromise the effectiveness and accuracy of radar devices for target acquisition, target tracking and missile guidance through both noise jamming and false response jamming , thus protecting the transport aircraft from a direct hit. In the latest variant, the AN/ALQ-101 covers threats in the E/J band . It is attached to the external beams of the aircraft , but requires appropriate wiring.
The enclosure contains the receiver and transmitter with traveling wave tubes and a programmable electronic controller. The antennas are attached at the front and rear. The electronics are cooled by evaporating the 'carried distilled water . The AN/ALQ-101 is operated via a panel in the cockpit, which can be used to recall preset programs.
The AN/ALQ-101 designation is derived from the system of the American MIL STD-196 .
In colloquial usage, the English term "ECM pod" is mainly used instead of the term "interfering vessel."

Go to cart1/72 F-111 Aardvark QRC 80-01 ECM Pod w/ Pylon 3D PrintingThe General Dynamics F-111 Aardvark is a retired supersonic, medium-range, multi-role fighter aircraft. Production models of the F-111 had roles that included attack (e.g., interdiction ), strategic bombing (including nuclear weapons capabilities), reconnaissance, and electronic warfare . The name Aardvark came from the aircraft's perceived similarities to the 'animal : a long nose and low-level terrain-following capabilities. The word "aardvark" originated in the Afrikaans language , as a contraction of "ground-pig," and this was the source of the F-111's nickname of "Pig," during its Australian service.Developed in the 1960s by General Dynamics as part of Robert McNamara's TFX program , the F-111 pioneered variable sweep wings , turbofan engines with afterburners, and automated terrain-following radar for low-altitude, high-speed flight. Its design has influenced subsequent variable-wing aircraft, and some of its advanced features have become commonplace. The F-111 experienced problems during early development, largely related to engines. A variant of the fighter intended for the U.S. Navy , the F-111B , was cancelled before production; it was intended for carrier-based roles , including long-range interception . Several specialized models were also later developed, such as the FB-111A strategic bomber and the EF-111s electronic warfare aircraft .The F-111 entered service in 1967 with the United States Air Force (USAF). The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) also ordered the F-111 and began using the F-111C in 1973. As early as March 1968, the USAF was deploying F-111s in active combat situations; the type saw heavy use during the second half of the Vietnam War to conduct low-level ground attack missions, flying over 4,000 combat missions suffering only six combat losses in theater. F-111s also participated in the Gulf War(Operation Desert Storm) in 1991; F-111Fs completed 3.2 successful attack missions for every failed mission, better than any other U.S. attack aircraft used in the operation. The RAAF's F-111s never saw offensive action, but were deployed periodically as a deterrent, such as for the Australian-led International Force for East Timor .Being relatively expensive to maintain due to post-Cold War budget cuts , the USAF decided to retire its F-111 fleet during the 1990s; the last F-111Fs were retired in 1996 while the remaining EF-111s also departed in 1998. The F-111 was replaced in USAF service by the F-15E Strike Eagle for medium-range precision strike missions, while the supersonic bomber role was taken over by the B-1B Lancer . The RAAF continued to use the type until December 2010, when the last F-111C was retired; its role was transferred to the Boeing F / A-18E / F Super Hornet as an interim measure until the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II became available.

Go to cart1/72 Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat - Basic Line (for Arma Hobby)The Grumman F4F Wildcat was a single-engine, single-seat, medium-wing, embarked fighter aircraft developed by the U.S. Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation in the late 1930s.Produced in the late decade to early 1940s, it was the successor to, and descendant of, the F3F, the last biplane fighter in service with the United States Navye of the entire United States Air Force. Originally designed in its own right as a biplane, it was later modified by sacrificing some of the maneuverability to achieve the speed that a double-winged aircraft could not provide and that an interceptor needed. It was the principal fighter embarked on U.S. Navy aircraft carriers between 1941 and 1942, i.e., during the first two years of participation in World War II.Some upgraded versions, including the FM Wildcat built by General Motors, remained operational until the end of the conflict primarily as equipment for escort carriers, units that could not handle the larger and more powerful Grumman F6F Hellcat or the Chance Vought F4U Corsair, which supplanted them instead on squadron carriers.

Go to cart1/72 Cactus Air Force F4F-4 Wildcat and P-400/P-39D Airacobra over Guadalcanal Deluxe Set Il Grumman F4F Wildcat fu un aereo da caccia imbarcato, monomotore, monoposto e monoplano ad ala media, sviluppato dall'azienda aeronautica statunitense Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation nei tardi anni trenta.
