1/48 F-16 ADF '40,000 Hours'
37th Fighter Wing
The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a multi-role, single-engine fighter aircraft originally developed by General Dynamics for the U.S. Air Force.
Designed as a light fighter, it has since evolved into a multi-role aircraft with a maximum attainable altitude of about 15,000 meters. It has been chosen by the air forces of 25 nations. The F-16 is the largest Western combat aircraft design, with the more than 4,500 examples produced since it began production in 1976. Although it is no longer purchased by the U.S. Air Force, its newer versions are still produced for the foreign market. In 1993, General Dynamics sold its entire aircraft-building division to Lockheed Corporation, which later became Lockheed Martin after merging in 1995 with Martin Marietta.
The U.S. Air Force plans to use the F-16 until 2025.
