1/35 Panzer IV/70(A) (Sd.Kfz.162/1)
The Jagdpanzer IV, whose identification number was Sd.Kfz. 162, was a tank destroyer used by the German Army during the last year of World War II.
The Jagdpanzer was derived from the Panzer IV medium tank to equip the anti-tank divisions of the armored and mechanized infantry divisions with a mobile and viable weapon against the increasingly numerous and powerful armored forces of the Allies and the Soviet Red Army. Armed with a 75-mm cannon and equipped with 80-mm thick frontal armor, the Jagdpanzer IV was produced in about a thousand and a half examples, which fought mainly on the Eastern Front and proved to be excellent machines.
It was distributed in two versions, one armed with the 48-caliber long PaK 40 anti-tank gun (L/48) and the other equipped with the powerful 75-mm KwK 42 L/70, which represented the most widespread model. After the end of the conflict a small group of vehicles was purchased from Syria.
