1/48 Reichsverteidigung Limited Edition / Dual Combo
(Focke-Wulf Fw190A-8/R2, Messerschmitt Me-109G-14, G-6, G-6/R6)
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190, also known as the Würger (Shrike in German), was a single-engine fighter and fighter-bomber aircraft, single-engine, low-wing monoplane, developed by the German aircraft company Focke-Wulf Flugzeugbau GmbH in the 1930s and employed by the Luftwaffe during World War II. At the time of its entry into service in 1941, it was in the opinion of some authors the most advanced fighter in the world. Faster than the Spitfire, its yaw rate was outstanding. However, the German fighter's high wing loading was the cause of one of its shortcomings: its tendency to stall without warning, resulting in overturning and going into a spin.
It underwent continuous developments and improvements that enabled it to remain competitive with the most modern Allied aircraft until Germany's surrender in May 1945. It was generally considered by pilots to be superior to the other main German fighter, the Messerschmitt Bf 109.
In dozens of versions, the Fw 190 was built in 13,367 examples as an interceptor and 6,634 as a fighter bomber and distinguished itself on all fronts. It was equipped with both radial and in-line engines.
The Messerschmitt Me-109, was a single-engine, low-wing monoplane fighter aircraft designed in the 1930s by Eng. Willy Messerschmitt, on behalf of the German aircraft company Bayerische Flugzeugwerke AG and produced, in addition to itself and its successor Messerschmitt AG, also under license in some of its variants by the Romanian Industria Aeronautica Româna (IAR) and the Spanish Hispano Aviación, which marketed it as the Hispano Aviación HA-1109.
